Terms of Service
Last updated June 5, 2026
These terms govern your use of the hosted tela instance at
tela.cagdas.io and its built-in MCP server at
tela.cagdas.io/api/mcp ("the Service"). By creating an account
or connecting an AI agent, you agree to these terms.
Self-hosted deployments. tela is open-source software you
can run yourself. If you operate your own instance, these terms cover only
the operator-run instance at tela.cagdas.io; your own
deployment is governed by you. The software itself is provided under its
open-source license.
The Service
tela is a markdown-native team wiki that people and AI agents can read, search, and write through the Model Context Protocol. The hosted instance is offered free of charge and as-is, primarily as a public demonstration and for personal use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Accounts
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and access tokens secure.
- Provide accurate registration information and a valid email you control.
- You must be able to form a binding agreement to use the Service; do not use it if you cannot.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the Service or its users at risk.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or store content you have no right to store.
- Upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, probe, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Abuse, overload, or circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls.
- Use the Service to store secrets, payment-card data, health records, or government-ID numbers (see the privacy policy).
- Misrepresent your identity or an agent's authority to act on your behalf.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant us the limited right to store, process, and display it solely to operate the Service for you (including indexing it for search and embedding it for semantic search). You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to it. Page bodies are plain markdown — you can export your content at any time, and deleting it removes it from the live Service.
AI agents and the MCP server
When you connect an AI host (such as Claude or ChatGPT), it acts on your behalf with your account's permissions. You are responsible for the actions you authorize an agent to take, including content it creates, edits, or deletes. Connected hosts are third parties governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Availability and data
The hosted instance is provided without any uptime, durability, or backup guarantee. It is pre-1.0 software and its data is treated as disposable — keep your own copies of anything important (your content exports as plain markdown). We are not liable for lost or corrupted data.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Because the hosted instance is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use it — which is zero.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these terms or the rights of others.
Changes
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
